How to obtain a key
First things first, you're going to want to snag yourself a key. The easiest way to do this is by heading over to this thread and leaving a comment requesting a key: http://forums.duelyst.com/t/the-key-req ... -here/2868
Typically you should receive a PM within 24 hours with a key inside, but in the case that you don't get one after a day or two, you can always shoot a PM over to @Decepticle and he should be able to help you out.
Where to access the game
Once you get your key, you're going to want to create an account on the game's live beta site: http://beta.duelyst.com/
Additionally if you want to try out an early access preview of the desktop client, you can use the following link: https://updates.counterplay.co/launcher
What to do once you're in
Once your account is made and you're in the game, take a peek at the Training Grounds for a brief interactive tutorial/introduction to the game. The later levels serve as fun "defeat the enemy general in one turn" puzzles that reward you with 10-20 gold each level.
At some point you might notice that you're beginning to earn a bit of gold. There's currently two ways you can spend your gold: 100g Spirit Orbs (this game's rendition of booster packs) or 150g Gauntlet runs (this game's rendition of draft mode). If you're brand new to the game, I'd strongly recommend you spend all your gold on Spirit Orbs and get comfortable with the game first. If you don't have a strong grasp on all the factions, chances are you won't survive very long in the Gauntlet. Currently the Gauntlet is only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays to keep queue times down.
Once you start earning cards you can create your own custom decks with the cards you've opened from Spirit Orbs, jump into sandbox mode to practice a bit, or jump directly into live matches against other players. If you're unsure of how to make a strong custom deck, the starter decks for each faction are actually not too bad.
