Ungur's moves:
Tail Crush: one-hit power attack like giga's Slam Dunk (blinkable, removes 1 shadow)
Fang Rush: Multiple hit attack like Jet stream (can eat up to 1-5 shadows)
Radiant Breath: silences and takes off over 50% of hp (400-700), 1 shot mages. Think of this as like crawler poison, except very powerful!! don't face the mages when tanking, tank it sideways. (Goes thru blink)
Dread Shriek: AOE Paralyzes anyone nearby (-ga removes blink)
Dispelling Wind: does AOE Erasega on party members nearby (can remove blink, but sometimes you may have a few buffs remain if lucky)
Wind Wall: ungur gets EVA UP like mad. Dispel this.
How we claimed him:
The first night another linkshell claimed him at 5:23AM, killed him at 5:27AM PST.
The second night, we had competition from new members of the same linkshell, which also came for the boomerang. Ungur popped at about 3:58AM and died at arond 4:01AM.
The third night, there was no competition and our final run. Ungur wouldn't spawn within the 21-24hour period, but he did spawn at about 6:20AM, which was well over the 24hour period (26hours)
Here's the thing I noticed about ungur the last two runs. When you keep killing all the placeholders - there's 4, one in each room, and 2 in the final room that's the farthest away (Bune's Room, I believe). Ungur spawns at E-9. But the thing is, each time we were waiting for ungur to pop, after continously killing placeholders from the other room, the wyvern in the popping room (E-9) would be empty for awhile!
THIS IS THE SIGN (or i believe) that Ungur is going to pop soon after you kill the placeholders from the other room that has repopped again. It happened to me on both the second and third nights.
Good luck on getting your boomerangs, and don't forget echo drops if you're tanking! Whm's will be too busy curing you to silence quickly.
What to be aware of:
Doom guard that pops near the end of the tunnel that's behind, he'll be comin' for ya if you're too close. Especially your mages.
Silence is dangerous for nin tanks.
Pull when you're sure that it's safe - clear some mobs if possible, the fight with ungur is likely to last anywhere from 3 to 10minutes or even more depending on your setup.

alot of missinformation here. In fact Ungur has ONLY 1 place holder. It just moves around from the E-9 room (wyvern at back of room) to the G-6 room (front most wyvern) These are the only two areas Ungurs placeholder will spawn. The wyvern to the left of the E-6 room rotates with the Wyvern at the far back of the G-6 room. These two are not PHs for Ungur. Been popping him for a few days now getting different people boomerangs. Hes also not 21-24hr its a bit less Im thinking 6-12 but not 100% sure on that just that it's not 21-24. 6 people is probably the reccomended set up. Possible to trio as nin thf healer or other similar combos.
