yes its a retail us key, i've done changes correctly and i tried this key on wow register page (without registering) - works for me fine.

That all sounds perfect but for some reason it still won't work, which is
odd since with US retail unused keys we've had a 100% success rate. The
only problem could be that the steps were done wrong somehow. Just send the
original and we'll do the proper steps to it plus any letter modding it
needs to get it to work. If by some chance we still can't get it working
I'll just email you one of my extra's. Sorry for all the trouble and thanks
