Update notes for April 14th (43217)
General * Certain dialog options will no longer cause the screen of everyone in the vicinity to fade to black momentarily. * Cogs should no longer appear when mousing over npcs throughout the gameworld. * Players should now be able to sit on selectable benches throughout the gameworld. * Players should notice much less flickering of npcs and shadows. * Fixed a small memory leak. * Fixed several crashes.
Destiny Quests * Added some additional rewards to the Awakening I&II (Mage) and Awakening II (Rogue).
Shipwrecked * This quest no longer refers to the bed. * Females will now animate in the shackle removal scene.
Destiny Healer * The Awakening I: Your character should no longer block the camera when speaking to Arias. * The Awakening II: Fleeing Villagers will now disappear on quest completion. * The Awakening II: Some text in conversation with Bartholomo has been corrected.
Destiny Mage * The Awakening I: Talking to Mithrelle now updates the goal Plead Apprenticeship with Mithrelle. * The Awakening I: The quest text now makes it clear that Cramaleico is only hiding your Mark of Acheron from Mithrelle. * The Awakening II: The quest text should now be clearer about where to find Mithrelle.
Destiny Rogue * The Awakening I: Grammar errors have been corrected in the quest text. * The Awakening I: Racial dialog options should now only display for players of the appropriate race. * The Awakening I: How to sneak after Arias has been clarified. * The Awakening II: There is now a small cutscene when the player switches the scrolls.
Destiny Soldier * Quest rewards have been updated.
Letter to the King * The Vial of Virgin Blood should be a bit easier to spot now.
The End Battle * The "liberate" goals in The End Battle have been renamed to eliminate confusion about what to do.
Aquilonia * Blood and Sweat: The marker now points you to the correct location of Scyra. * Fixed requirements so that the quest wont break if you exit conversation (Level 30). * The player will no longer receive a placeholder item for the Phoenix of the South questline.
Cimmeria * Changed a line in Rhiderch's dialog to match text with audio.
General Quests * Absolute War: Fixed requirements for this quest. * A Dangerous Challenge: Archpriest Zyrus is now existent. * A Deadly Message: The Map Thief should now properly drop a map. * Jotun should now spawn for the quest Against the Great Chief. * Inconsistencies in the quest journal of A Hot Day have been resolved. * A Missing Filly: Waymarker for Expensive Saddles should now be correct. * A Missing Filly: Ostler now speaks grammatically correct. * Ante Up: the goal marker for this quest has been switched to an area marker. * A Plea for Freedom: User will now have proper dialog options if choosing to keep the quest item. * A Plea for Freedom: Description now is more descriptive. * Architect: Architect dialogue lines rewritten. * Players should now be able to receive the quest "A Recipe for Death" from Juan. * Atzel's Approach: Troglodyte Huts will no longer display cogs if the user does not have the appropriate quest. * Blinding the Hills' Eyes: This quest should no longer update before the player kills all the sentries. * Butchering the Weak: Wounded Vanir who have been aggroed will no longer be unattackable and follow you around like groupies once the player has completed the quest. They will simply die once the quest is over. * Caught in the Shadows: The Cursed Skull you receive from Ninus has an improved visual look. * Crawling from the Depths: This quest is now a pre-requisite for Worm Holes and Against the Larvae Matrons. * Desert Raiders: Zahir will now accept the stolen caravan supplies you are giving him. * Desperate Men: You can now hand in supplies to all three scouts. * Eiglophian Mountains Ice Cave Quests: Added to the quest journal on the 3 quests that the wall of ice might have to be destroyed with force. * Fabio's Predicament: Quest marker has been clarified. * Finding your Feet: The West Gate should be easier to find now. * Finding your feet: Fixed a typo in dialog with Irritantus. * Fire for the Dead: Waymarker has been added. * Herbal Vitality: Teltus will now accept the herbs offered to him. * Honored Dead of Cimmeria: Fixed the goal marker for this quest. * Hunting for Valoz: Da Neva has moved his shop, but he has marked your map so that you can find him easily when returning to him with the Warg Pelts. * Hunting the Setties: Waypoint should now point to the correct location. * Ill Will and a Last Meal: When you kill the cook, the head in your inventory will now be of a Stygian female, rather than a Vanir male. * Immortal Acheron: Waymarker now shows the correct location of Zelata. * Markers of the Lost Tomb: Map markers should now be positioned correctly. * Melanor's Star: Trajus in Old Tarantia will now give you this quest. * Obtaining the Noble Arena Key: This quest should now function properly. * Old Man Gormley: Quest should now update correctly. * Old Tarantia: polished the Missing Filly quest. * Plans of Mayhem: Swapped coordinates for the first two goals. * Prove your Worth: Waymarker now shows the correct location of Zelata. * Quest markers have been added for "Proving Grounds." * The Raided Tomb: should now be easier to solve. * Restless Spirits: Waymarker now shows the correct location of Zelata. * Revenge of the Ape God: Avatar will now spawn properly. * Run Away, Far, Far Away: Players are now given appropriate conversation options if choosing to keep the item. * Sins of the Father's Whore: Geta should now accept Alcippe's heart. * Slay Wolves for Ceana: made small adjustments to the quest description. * Waypoint adjusted for "The Smoky Pits of Stygia." * Spider Cavern: The quest should update easily once you find Telung. * Quest Text for "Spirits in the Sand" has been updated. * The Bronze Serpent: Removed the coin reward and upped the xp reward accordingly. * The Burning Scars: Shadeleaf flowers are minimized to a more appropriate size. * The Crown of Acheron: Waypoint will now properly point to Vistrix. * The Cursed Scroll: Waymarker now shows the correct location of Zelata. * A spelling error has been fixed for "The Fourth Fragment." * The King's Headache: Waymarker now shows that Commander Drusco is standing on the pier, not in the river. * The Laughing Man: Quest is no longer shareable. Quest should no longer complete early. * The Legendary Turach: Fixed small typo. * The Minstrel and the Bandits: Instrument Crate now has a proper visual look. Waypoint is also now correct. * The Murderous Little Acolyte: Quest will no longer update if you do not kill the guards. * The Purveyor of Putrescence: Tailing the Green Cloaked Man should now update the quest. * The Scholar's Pages: Quest will now update when receiving the 'Haunter of the Dark' from Ventor. * The Spice in the Sand should now complete correctly at 7. * The Smoky Pits of Stygia now accurately describe the plant needed. * The Urchin: Mitra now guides you to the correct location of Myrina. * The Urchin: The waymarker for Little Tulio should now be on top of him, not 3 meters away. * The Urchin: Changed a grammatical error in dialog. * The description for "The Wolf Hunt" has been improved. * Waypoint adjusted for "Venom in the Wastelands." * The Witch' Brew: Waymarker now shows the correct location of Zelata. * The Wrong Kind of Message: Traitor's Common is now correctly referred to in the Quest Journal. * Tearing the Veil: Waymarker now shows the correct location of Zelata. * Treachery and Deception: Octavia now always agros the player after spawning in "Broken Promises". * Treachery and Deception: Octavia's Guard Dogs now always attack the player even if the player is more than 5 levels above them. * What Creeps Beneath and Old Secrets: Quests are now chained.
Character Creation * Perspective should no longer change so dramatically at the end of Character Creation. * User feedback has been added for instances when you input a name and it can not be sent, due to the required service being offline.
Items * Many wearable items have been tweaked to improve their appearance on the character. * Many wearable items have been tweaked to improve their appearance on female characters. * Many consumable items have had their inventory icons adjusted to more appropriately reflect the item. * A number of Blue items have been renamed. The new names should more appropriately reflect the power of the items in question. * Mobs in Black Ring Citadel will now drop loot. * Wild boars and wargs in Conall's Valley drop the correct loot. * Feather items should now stack and players should be able to sell them to vendors. * Many duplicate vendor items have been removed from the game. * Prices have been set for the inventory bags! * The Arachnid Tunic should now be more tuniclike. * Arcane Robes have a changed visual appearance. * Caliga Tergus' Belt has been polished. * The Embalmer's Wrap should now have visuals on female characters. * Grimherald Hauberk and Frostwarder's Scale Boots should now have appropriate stats. * The Grolhunter Tunic should now be more tuniclike. * The Quest Item Hand of Klarkash-Ton is not deletable. * Quest item "human skull" now has the correct visual look and name. * The quest reward Ignacio's Kilt is now visible on female characters. * Mangy Yeti Pelt has an updated inventory graphic. * Pounce Boots are no longer a Legs item. * Primal Jerkin should now fit both males and females properly. * The Razhar item should no longer clip through the player's legs as they move. * Riverhide Tunic should no longer cause parts of the female body to become invisible. * Sands of a God appears in the inventory with a graphic icon. * Silver Bracelet has had its inventory icon updated. * Somatic Frayed Leggings now have an appearance on females. * Strider Leggings should now have stats and be visible on female characters. * Suppressor's Hauberk has been given an appropriate description. * Tigris Belt is no longer a Feet item. * Vanir Boots should no longer cause the user's calves to disappear. * Wanderer's Scale boots should no longer make feet disappear. * Wildfarer's Jerkin should no longer cause a gap in a male character's neck.
World Design * Many polish tweaks have been made to the world of Hyboria- collision has been trimmed, added, or cleaned up, and textures have been improved in countless locations! * In an effort to open up the world of Hyboria, many collision walls in multiple zones have been removed (ex. Field of the Dead). Explorers rejoice! * You should now be able to interact with ladders as intended (no more running up ladders). * A number of items in the world have had textures re-applied. The Checkers Club of Hyboria is much saddened. * Armsman's Tavern and Arena: Many world design fixes have been added to this zone. * Collision has been fixed around Rulvio in Atzel's Approach. * Resource nodes have been added to Atzel's Approach. * Blessed Caves: The water now has proper sound. * Bubshur House: The fountains and water areas now have correct sound. * Conall's Valley: You can now climb the ladder in the chieftain's house properly once more. * Conall's Valley: forced a floating corpse to land. * Conall's Valley: You can now bind to the Tavern in the Cimmerian Settlement. * Conall's Valley: Removed no longer needed fire particle effects. * Conall's Valley: zoning out should be safer from arachnid threats for a while. * The Demon Eggs mound has been reattached firmly to the ground. * It's now possible to enter the Cannibal Caves in Eiglophian Mountains without having any quests there. * Fight Club Arena: Many small world design fixes have been applied to this zone. * A new area has opened up in Kheshatta. * Lacheish Plains: Several types of NPC's will now roam in the friendly NPC village in the Lacheish Plains, and also patrol some. * Sheep have taken up residence in Lacheish plains and can be killed for their wool. * The Oasis of Zaara has received a minor facelift. * Outflow Tunnels: Fixed a flickering issue with some of the furs NPCs were sitting on. * Pyramid of the Ancients: The pyramid is yet again enterable. * The Scorpion Nests in the Scorpion Cave have been properly named. * Spider Cavern: Corrected light by the entrance. * Spider Cavern: Corpses, spiders, and other various and sundry corpses will no longer float off the ground. * Tarantia Noble District: Many small world design fixes have been applied to this zone. * Thunder River: Much polish on quests in this zone. Also many quests now give proper quest rewards. * Tortage Island: Lootable chests should now be correctly named. * Tortage Gate and other interactive items should now be working again. * Fixed a decorative skull on a gate in Tortage that was missing a face. * Tortage Underhalls: Climbing should work as intended now. * Villa Camillus: Many world design fixes have been added to this zone. * Villa Lentulus: Many world design fixes have been added to this zone. * Villa Paetus: Many world design fixes have been added to this zone. * Villa Verde: Many world design fixes have been added to this zone. * Volcano: Slave of Acheron should no longer fall through the ruins. * Ambushers on the Volcano should no longer run through tents. * Volcano: The volcano will always show as a 'night' instance now. * Volcano: All minions have been removed. * Wild Lands of Zelata: The windmill is now properly placed on the ground and has collision.
Crafting / Tradeskills * Unfinished recipes are removed from the Gemcutter profession. * Gemcutters should see a more tidy listing of gem's titles in the skill book. * Renamed the Architect "Fa�ade" components to the more unicode friendly "Facade" format. * Resource items will be flagged with "Tradeskill Component" and be stored in the player's Resource Inventory.
Mounts * Your horse's sprint/run animations should look more in line with his current speed. * The horse/player should not jitter in the animations anymore when mounted * When you log in while dead on your horse, you will stay dead. * You can only die once while mounted. * Restricted mounting to certain outdoor playfields. * Holding turn + strafe while mounted will not make you turn faster. * You cannot queue up events when mounted anymore. * Cannot jump while mounting/dismounting anymore.
GUI * Updated the chat text colors. Oooh! Ahh! * Hold down O to show the reference sheet. This is a quick guide of the gui. * Your spells, combos, and abilities should automatically be put on the shortcutbar. * The Path of Asura will autoput itself on the last slot in the first bar. * Bankers, Tradeposts, and Wayfarers of Asura will now appear on the minimap. * Items should no longer disappear from your hotbar when you zone. * Quest NPCs on the map will be grayed out if the quest is not in your level range. * A sound has been added to alert you of incoming whispers. * Target's portrait view will now display the lockdown icon. Also, the text position and color of your target's name has been tweaked. * Fixed an issue causing stamina drain to appear as a stamina gain. * Fixed a bug causing the GUI sidepanels to sometime not slide in the first time they were activated. * NPCs losing mana will now be logged in the combat chat. * Players will no longer see 'Unknown' characters when rolling for loot. * Players will no longer receive 'Too far away to loot' messages when winning a need/greed roll. * Non-trainable feat icons now have a gray outline. * Added a checkbox in the option panel for turning off/on the combo sequence indicator GUI. * Your combos should not gray out after a teleport anymore. * Tooltips will now appear in the reward view during a dialog with an npc. * Right clicking on items or characters now "uses" them. * Shift-right clicking on a loot bag now autoloots all. * Shift-right clicking on items opens the context menu. * Cooldowns should now display correctly. * Quests should now be ordered by level, then group level, and then level name. * Group invite feedback is now provided in the chat log. * Added reset buttons to the morph slider views in character creation. * Fixed a bug causing the combo sequence indicator GUI to sometimes display the wrong combo icon. * The map will now longer be moved on front of the waypoint tooltips when clicked while a tooltip is visible. * Casting cones (brought up by pressing V) have been removed. * Extended the minimum width of hover info windows. * Sidepanels now always open on top of other windows. * When the player marker is outside the region or mini map, it will stop at the edge of the map and point toward the point where the player is located. * Team members now have an arrow pointing to them if they are outside the map. * Quest Reward window should now show the amount of items received, if more then one. * Removed the concentration check success result message when hit while casting. * Fixed a bug in the skill GUI causing some of the stats being displayed to be multiplied by 100. * Your character will now always be sorted first on the team list to make sure F1 will always target yourself. * Removed the "Disband Group" entry from the team menu. * The minimap is now correctly centered on the character after a teleport. * Mousing-over other players will not turn the mouse pointer to the trade icon. Double-clicking on them will not start trade. * Added Evade Chance to the character attributes panel. * You should no longer be spammed in chat by animals killing prey animals in your area. * Damage dealt by pets now produces overhead damage numbers. * Members of the group are now informed if the group leader changes the loot options. * Abilities that change state (like Hiding) will now have a visual indication on the icon on the shortcut bars and other places when they are active. * Fixed issue where defense rating and attack rating sometimes would be lower visually after zoning. * Fixed an issue that caused the portrait background images of players and prey animals to not appear. * You now lose your target/selected target if it dies. * Dead npcs will not show up when you have "show all names" enabled. * Added feedback when you hit XP caps. * Added a note about case sensitivity to authentication failure messages. * Received XP will now be seen in floating numbers above the character. * The header in all tutorial text boxes are now bold by default. * You now see all hits towards your target, including killing blows. * If you create a matchmaking note, you can hover the mouse over the note icon to read it.
NPCs * The Arctic Hare will now properly flee when players approach. * You should no longer get dialog options intended for Cimmerians when talking to Kincaid, unless you are a Cimmerian. * Increased the Run Speed of NPC's. * NPCs will play impact animations when you hit their unshielded sides too, now. * Several NPCs in Tarantia Noble District are no longer standing on their beds. * Many naked NPCs have found their clothing!
Atzel's Approach * Ileana will now fight back when attacked.
Conall's Valley * The cimmerian warriors should no longer get stuck inside houses in the settlement during the attacks. * The Vanir polluters can now be pulled across the bridge near their camp. * Amunarton in Conall's Valley will no longer walk off during dialog. * Elethia's helmet should not cover her face any longer. * Friendly NPCs in Conall's Valley no longer display the interactable icon, if they can't be interacted with. * Added a gravedigger in the village. * Adjusted the position of Sentinels warming their hands. * Renamed Armorsmith Gowan to be a simple Armorsmith. * Fixed a patrolling issue with a Vanir Runecaster. * The Vanir should all now attack. Cowardly Vanir are slain at birth. * Amunarton is no longer rude and therefore does not walk off mid-way through a conversation with a player.
Conarch Village * A Wayfarer of Asura has moved into the village. * It's now only possible to travel to Old Tarantia via the Stagecoach Driver in Conarch Village.
Eiglophian Mountains * A friendly Cimmerian by the name of Rogan has moved to the Settlement of Dinos. * Dalrach is standing by the entrance of the Eiglophian Mountains, ready to greet adventurers coming from Tuich. * An old man by the name of Laoric has moved to the Eiglophian Mountains. * A scout by the name of Delryn is in a tower near the Vanir Camps.
Field of the Dead * Mendark has moved to the Field of the Dead. He is eager to direct players towards the Tarantia Noble District and the Arena. * Tuich has come here looking for brave adventurers. He has news of dire situations in the Eiglophian Mountains. * Specter of Chieftain Talorc will now properly agro the player. * Door back to Field of the Dead from Kylikki's Crypt should now be working properly.
Frost Swamp * Kaiju has a new spell: Fatigue of Kaiju.
Khemi * Abasir is struggling to fit into his new, tiny clothes. * Adofo is struggling to fit into his new, tiny clothes. * Children in Khemi are now lower level. * Nathifa's clones are gone. * Permedies' clones are gone. * Issues with some of Sharak's dialogue have been resolved.
Kheshatta * Typo in dialog with Mizra Suffi has been corrected. * Kheshatta Potion Vendor "Chaths" now sells potions. * It should now be possible to bind yourself to the Wayfarer in this zone.
Khopshef Province * Pashtun Undead Servant no longer has two heads. * Pashtun Vengeful Mummy and Pashtun Undead Servant should no longer have exploding heads. * The player should no longer be placed under the Pyramid of the Ancients when traveling in from Khopshef Province. * A Wayfarer of Asura has moved into the province. * Added dialog options for rejecting the quests "Blood of the Serpent" and "Spirit of Acheron". * Potion Merchant Nektep has been restocked. * Mantis Elders have been told to get serious and no longer act funny. The innocent child Ptah is no longer ganked by the evil Mantis Elders. * Sinmophtys will no longer slide around the floor or walk off during Knubot.
Old Tarantia * It should now be possible to get "Master of the Silver Phoenix" from Kalanthes. * Irritantus now gives an appropriate dialog option after the "Tell me about yourself" option. * NPC Fabio is now correctly listed under Old Tarantia. * Adretta should now properly dispense a quest, as indicated by her exclamation point. * Basilius stands closer to his counter
Tarantia Noble District * Juan will now update the Armsman's Tavern quest appropriately. * The Nemedian Poisoner has been relocated.
Thunder River * Jacob's dialog should now make more sense. * Added requirements to General Tatius' dialog so it should only be visible when appropriate.
Tortage * Conversation with the Tortage Guard should no longer get cut off early by getting thrown out. * Red Hand Guards no longer use invisible swords. * Red hand Watchman now has a cup when drinking! * Saddur should now attack the player after conversation with less delay. * Similarly, Saddur should no longer bum rush the player immediately after speaking. * Sigurd at the Thirsty Dog no longer has a shop. * Turach and Laranga will no longer offer you quests before your shackles have been removed.
Wild Lands * Avitus will now teleport the player from Wild Lands to Poitain. * A Wayfarer of Asura has moved here.
Mobs * Minibosses should no longer abuse the knockback ability quite so frequently. * Many of Yakhmar's spells should be functioning once again. * Conall's Valley: Yeti should now respawn more frequently. * The Neanderthal Cannibals in the Cannibal cave should now work correctly. * Trained Rippers will no longer path through the walls in Villa Verde. * Lieutentant Darian should now engage combat normally. * The Sewer King should now spawn properly positioned. * Tarisha will no longer stand idle and let the player gank her during The End Battle. * The Half Giant mob should no longer die over and over. * You can now knockback rooted or stunned mobs. * If knocked back, you should no longer get stuck in the air. * If knocked back over a cliff, you should not get stuck. * Bloodspurts from sabreteeth and chill crawlers will now originate at the correct location. * When a mob goes out of evade state, his hatelist is cleared.
