OSI-sponsored Tournament of Champions Update! Oct 9 2002 5:39PM CST (GMT -06:00)
Everyone&#8217;s talking about the Tournament of Champions, and to help players keep track of the latest information on this upcoming OSI-sponsored series of &#8220;fight nights,&#8221; we&#8217;ve given it it&#8217;s very own Web page, and you can find that page here.

Included in this page are some small, additional rules clarifications. For your convenience, here are those specific updates:
Oceania is now included as a participating shard! Oceania&#8217;s scheduled day is Monday, Nov. 18th, at 4:00pm CST (10:00pm GMT/UTC). [The omission of Oceania was an oversight, and we&#8217;re happy to include our shard down under in the activities.]
Red/Murderer characters may not participate in these fights, as Jhelom is a guarded zone. [We&#8217;ve certainly got nothing against Reds, but we needed players with Red characters to realize before even signing up that fighting within a city will be prohibitive to them. However, please keep in mind that there&#8217;s still more than a week before the tournament begins so some of you may have the opportunity to successfully work off your murder counts in time!]
No more than 12 potions of any kind can be brought into or used during a fight.
No magic items other than the potions listed above will be allowed (including weapons, armor, clothing, glacial staves, firehorns, blessed items, etc.).
Players are not allowed to "buff" themselves (improve their Stats through the use of spells, skills, potions, etc.) before a fight. Buffing may occur, however, once the fight begins and any time during the fight.
If a player leaves the arena area, he or she will be disqualified.
As only so many players can participate, open spots in the tournament registration is limited. Players will be allowed to register up to Saturday, October 19th CDT, as open tournament slots allow.

Nie bedzie lootowania, ani kradniecia. Znaczy po walce beda wszystko oddawac odpowiednim graczom.

O poisonach nic nie napisali, ale jak znam zycie to bedzie mozna korzystac z tego, co w czasie walki sobie spoisonujesz.

Dodatkowe zasady do Turnieju!!!

After listening to the concerns of some players about the upcoming Tournament of Champions, we have once again revised the rules and updated the format of the Tournament. This proves how much we listen to our players and care about them and their feelings. Some players were concerned that they might be traumatized by being killed or by seeing a red player, and we wouldn't want that to happen! So, without further ado, here is the new announcement for our upcoming Tournament of Champions.

Hail, Citizens of Britannia!
Have you ever wondered who the very bestest player-versus-plaver combatant on your shard is? Do you think that it could be you?
If you think you have what it takes to be the best of the best, read on!

Origin Systems is hosting an officially sanctioned player-versus-player (PvP) event: the Tournament of Champions!

The tournament will be a series of 2-on-2 &#8220;fight-night&#8221; style events with teams from each of the 14 participating shards battling it out for the honor of becoming the shard champions!

If you are going to join in, please make sure to read all the information below very carefully. Failure to follow the rules will result in your account being banned.


- All contestants must be residents of Trammel, since we know that's where all the real pvp'ers live. You must provide proof of home ownership in Trammel on the account of the character that you are using for this event.
- All contestants must register 3 days in advance by collecting and turning into a GM the following items: 2 million gold, a bright pink cactus plant, a purple ogre statue, a tailoring LBOD, a glacial staff, and a letter of recommendation (in book form) from Cynthe assuring us that you are a courteous and kind person with no negative-karma characters.
- Since the definition of "trashtalking" is often vague and hard to discern, there will be no talking allowed by anyone at any time during the event. The exception to this rule is that you may "sing" along with the background music provided here by emoting the words to the song along with the music. This music will be played throughout the entire event to remind us all how much love we have for you, the players.
- All contestants will be issued colored robes for their match. One team will have pink robes, the other will have yellow.
- Any use of weapons, spells, potions, or skills is not allowed. This ensures an even and fair playing field for everyone.
- All contestants will be given a s00peR d00peR Flower of Power wand to use during the tournament. These wands may be kept as a collectible rare for you to treasure after the event.
- All combatants will *hug* the opposing team before the match starts.
When the GM says "go", all contestants for the match will "attack" the opposing team by double clicking their wand and targetting their opponents. Each "hit" will result in a dot (color to match your team's robes) appearing on the robe of the person you hit.
- At the end of 2 minutes, the team with the least amount of dots on their robe will be declared the winner.
- All combatants will *hug* the opposing team at the end of the match.
The winners for each shard will be issued special neon white blessed sashes that say "I'm really good at pvp". Winners will also be given a new title on their paperdoll that says "*name here*, Super Really Good PvP Guy/Gal of *shard here*"
- All contestants will be named the winner of their match and receive the special sash and title. We at OSI feel that everyone is a special winner and should be recognized as such!
- All contestants from all shards will be invited to a special party on test center. There will be cake and music and a round of charades, and it should be great fun!!!

We at OSI hope that this event shows you how in touch we are with our players. We know what you want, and are eager to provide it for you.
