When they talk about summons, they also say something to the effect of "well, you're assuming CoP is finished." Those of us who have finished it, know that there is no closure for Diablos, Phoenix, or Bahamut. There are closure scenes for all the other NPCs, though. Those three are heavily linked with the CoP storyline. It would make sense for one to experience their storyline, in order to access what battle is required to obtain them.

One of my friends (jp) who's been pretty accurate as far as information on new stuff on patches in the past (I would not be posting it otherwise) well, this is what he told me, dunno if it's true but i think its good to mention it. All of this came from Hiromichi Tanaka.
-New avatar is going to be released but to obtain it, you will have to have your CoP missions up-to-date.
-A new mission is going to be added to CoP (Maybe it has to do with the new avatar they are releasing?)
-They are going to introduce 3 new dynamis zone (Valkrum, buburimu and tavnazia) I dunno but i'm calling bullshit on this one.
-Fellowship cap will be raised to 65 and a new quest is going to be introduced.
Remember, rumor but let's see how accurate it will be within time.
