Everyone is talking about Lineage 3 but Aion is the next MMORPG NCSoft is currently making. It's expected to be finished in 2Q of 2007.
One of the most important aspect of the game that I'm looking forward to is the interactive system. Most MMORPG that the game is controlled by theprogrammers with all types of quests, no matter how strong or weak a player, a clan or an alliance is, the world never changes. But the world of Aion is controlled by players, every action a player do will change the world. The following examples are given by NCSoft at E3 in 2006. For example, there are 2 traders at the same town, if one trader has many buyers, it'll be more likely that he'll be able to sell more items. The other trader however, if he doesn't get many buyers he'll eventually bankrupt. Another example, many MMORPG can expand maps by adding more patches, just like the chronical update in Lineage II. Aion is different, maps are created and expanded by players. Players will get a chance to build their own underground castle or towns. Here's some video of Aion. It looks like a combination of Guildwar and WoW. It has similar graphic as GW and same control as WoW(WASD). But graphic seems much better. AION_priest.wmv has better recorded graphic. Don't use full screen to view these because they'll be blurry.
