Here are the Patch Notes and Known Issues for the play test on Wednesday January 6, 2010 from 11am to 8pm (PST).
General
* Conning Change! - The number in the conning window now merely represents the differential in grade-level. It no longer is a combination of critter rank, toughness AND grade-level. i.e. A Lt5 Battleship would have previously conned as "+1" to a Lt5 player. It will now con as "0".
* Commodities may be purchased from the replicator for now.
* Some resources can be traded to scientists at Memory Alpha (work in progress)
* Space enemies should be less likely to end up inside asteroids.
* When you change the Chat Channel you are sending to, it will save and restore that Chat Channel when switching Chat Tabs.
* Added a /reply (alias /r) command that works like backspace, but can be used from the chat window
* Added a variety of chat command aliases. /w and /whisper for tell, /f for fleet, /o for officer, and /p for team
* Added contacts in Klingon stations that sell advanced gear and requisition Bridge Officers
* Added more tips to loading screens
* Increased the number of Captain and Bridge Officer skillpoints that players receive for defeating enemies in space
* Adjusted the drop tables for the scanning anomolies. Level range distribution of certain anomolies (resources) have changed
* Fixed a bug with the Klingon transwarp to Qonos utility
* Leveling up now also grants additional bank and inventory slots
* Added more random names for Betazoids, Liberated Borg, Trill, and Ferengi
* Fleets are now limited to players of the same faction
* Players may now view and set the biography of their bridge officers
* Fixed a bug where interaction objects were disappearing on low graphic settings
* Fix a problem with equip/unequip moving items to the wrong inventory bag
* Fixed a bug where some ships would turn grey as they became damaged
* Registry text on ships should now be more legible
* Starfleet and Klingon bridge officer stores now offer a variety of species and ability sets
Environment
* Fixing some lighting issues that were causing parts of various maps to be totally black
* Fixed some interior problems in the Tutorial maps
* Fixed a problem in cave maps where players would fall through
* Removed collision from the planetary rings in sector space
* Made some minor tweaks in Quark's bar
* Fixed some planet atmospheres that were not displaying properly

* Fixed a bug where some crates would be unlit

UI and Controls
* The Fire All Weapons button has returned and now match the style of the new Fire Beams and Fire Torpedos buttons
* Fixed a bug that prevented the keybinding of Fire Beams and Fire Torpedos
* Added more final icons to the game
* If the last map view was 'sector list' when the map is opened on the ground, the map will instead display the normal map
* Store purchase confirm dialog can now be skipped by holding shift while clicking
* Store sell and buyback no longer have confirm dialogs since they are reversible
* Changed size and position of the chat window so that it fits on lower left corner on a 1024x768 screen
* Added a bigger right margin to the contact dialog window to prevent letters from clipping outside the margins
* The Bridge Officer Power Tray now allows up to 4 powers displayed
* UI Fixed a bug where you could drag and drop onto the replicator button even when it was disabled
* Updated tooltip text of minimap buttons
* Added proper button art for minimap buttons
* Updated sector space waypoints to indicate "mission available"
* Updated tooltip for Full Impulse to denote it must be toggled off
* Added mouse controls images for Tutorial tips

* Added a holster button to the power bar
* Enabled "Target threatening enemies first" control option by default and included it on the options screen. When this is set, tab targeting will select enemies who are attacking you first.
* Enabled "Reset inactive tab target" control option by default. When this is set, pressing tab will always select the nearest enemy unless you are currently tabbing through targets. Removed "Maximum targeting distance" option in space because it did not work. Added several new bindable commands to the key bind list, including Target Nearest Foe.
* Additional fixes to ensure that using the left mouse to change camera or UI will not unselect your current target or target a new entity. You need to left click in all cases to select a target with the mouse.
* Added copyright text to bottom of login and character selection screens
* Clicking a power preset twice no longer makes it go to balanced
* Addressed some layout issues in the PVP Queue
* Updated the bank window

FX and Animation
* Fixed the Logan's run red blinking palm bug.
* Updated High Yield Torpedo and Torpedo Spread.
* Added FX for boarding party return to ship.
* Added glow FX to reverse shield polarity.
* FX for martial palm strike should now be the same as the pistol palm strike.
* Torpedoes should no longer dissapear before hitting the target.
* Updated Brace for Impact
* First pass hooking up levelup FX (may not work at all levels and for all players)

Powers and Enemies
* Torpedos now do significantly more damage - this goes for players and enemies
* Tractor Beam and Eject Warp Plasma will now disable a targets cloak.
* Dominion Dreadnoughts and Battleships, Romulan Battleships, Klingon dreadnoughts now have advanced sensors to better see cloaked vessels.
* Warp Speed in Sector Space now increases 10% per tier of player ship.
* All Cloaking devices will now go offline if Auxillary sytems go offline.
* Replaced Engineering Team (heal) on Romulan Mogai Escort with Evasive maneauvers and Cannon Scatter Volley
* Space Battery devices will no longer shoot your power to maximum. They will add 75 power to the appropriate system as it is listed in the tooltip.
* Increased the number of weapon slots on first 3 science vessels.
* Made Klingon Birds of Prey weaker for the first 5 grades.
* Increased Science vessel Shields and HP.
* Orion Frigates and Battleships no longer launch fighters until LT grade 5
* Orion Frigates only ever launch 1-2 fighters each
* Reduced HP, Shield and Damage of lower level critter ships
* The Transwarp home ability is no longer interrupted on movement. That means, you can now activate it in Sector space even if you are moving. It also no longer requires that you hold down the button. Note this ability can only be used in sector space.
* Fixed a display error on turret firing arcs. They should now show as 360 degrees.
* Fixed a bug with combat cloak
* Added a placeholder icon for Cloaking
* Added a placeholder icon for Full Impulse
* Reduced the radius at which sector space wandering ships would pull you into battle
* Changed shield damage reduction tooltip to say, "Reduces Damage vs Shields by 20%" instead of "80% Shield Damage Received Multiplier."
* Evasive Maneuvers can no longer be stacked with Full Impulse.
* Added some damage to Telekinetic trait. Significantly increased knockback. Increased recharge to 60 seconds.
* Nerve Pinch - Increased hold duration. Triggers hold protection upon expiration. Increased recharge time to 2 minutes.
* Mind Meld - Decreased hold duration. Increased confuse duration. Increased recharge time to 2 minutes.
* Shield Regeneration Consoles - These now improve with the level of the item.
* The trait Charm has an increased duration and recharge time
* Cloak now prevents the use of most abilities. While cloaked, you can only use self-affecting abilities.
* Low level Birds of Prey are now following the standard Bird of Prey attack run behavior, but they do not cloak in between runs
* Fixed a bug with enemies that use cloaking shields so that they respond properly to having their shields go offline
* The Borg ships in the tutorial no longer have a chance to score criticals on new players
* Increased avoid radius for plasma grenade fires.
* Fixed text errors in Tachyon Beam and Brace for Impact abilities.
* Fixed many other item and power descriptions
Missions
* Klingon Player now have a varient of the Gorn Minefield fleet action available from Sector Space
* Fixed a Klingon ship store that was selling Starfleet ships.
* The Borg in the tutorial have updated behaviors so they will act more "Borg-like".
* Updated Chief Sherman bridge officer selection text
* Updated the NPC ship behaviors in the tutorial to more accurately depict their recent combat
* Corrected appearances of "USS" and "U.S.S" on ship names in the Tutorial
* Added more Tips during the Tutorial

Known Issues
* We have not yet ironed out all the issues with ATI graphic cards. As a stop-gap, we've turned off the function that was causing Anti-Alias problems until we get a proper fix.
* During Klingon Character Creation, optional information text is overlapping with the ship name field and the face display is messed up once you reach the traits screen.
* Some Bridge Officer species turn into Vulcans once you have them join your crew
* There are still some broken missions out there. If you run into one, use the depart system button under the minimap to exit and try later
* Not all the color pallettes are setup in the Character Creator
* You can still not create Female Klingon characters yet until we finish all of their clothes, else they'd be nekkid and ESRB rating would be impacted
* We continue to work on PVP maps and while we've fixed several issues, there are still bugs in some maps. Keep the bugs rolling in.
* Star Clusters and pure Exploration is somewhat functional but may be buggy in this build. Enter the few working Star Cluster sectors at your own risk
* Not all tooltips for powers and items are final
* There are some duplicate mission texts that have not yet been fixed
* Enemy fighters may appear to not fire any weapons, but still deal damage
* Security officers may show up as look alike clones
* Pips and Sashes for promotions are not yet working as intended
* Loading screens do not scale to many monitor resolutions yet
* Not all missions match the names of the new sector blocks yet. We're getting there
* Some players who have played in past playtests may have bad costume data which will cause issues when you attempt to go to the Tailor screen. This will mostly be fixed by an upcoming character wipe
* Some larger ships may exit combat and try to return to their spawn point. If you see this please bug it
* Bridge buttons may be in but are not yet hooked up to your Bridge. It should be in by this weekend
* We continue to tweak mission levels and power balance to make progression smooth
* There are still lots of bugs in the Klingon sectors. We have a team specifically working on these sectors and expect most of these bugs squashed for Saturday
